Mark Bates
CEO, FounderMark is the driving force behind all of RDT’s major innovations, its business practices and even its office culture. He is passionate about technology and all things new, and is continually seeking to create different ways for insurers to process data and improve business performance.
Mark graduated in 1984 with a degree in systems analysis and began working for Bank of America as a technical consultant. While there he built one of the first Europe-wide networked document image processing systems. He also defined hardware and software standards for the bank’s European division and led the development of several dealing systems.
Mark co-founded RDT in 1991 with the goal of developing innovative software for the insurance industry. RDT is committed to the Microsoft platform and Mark has sat on numerous Microsoft Advisory Boards.

Joe O’Connor
Deputy Chief Executive OfficerJoe’s role includes ‘all things client’ ensuring existing and new customers are continuously supported in the most helpful, efficient and cost effective way possible to allow our client’s businesses to prosper and innovate.
He has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing in financial services and technology companies. He oversaw impressive international growth at his previous employer Broadridge, a leading provider of technology-based solutions for capital markets, wealth management and asset management firms, where he was the company’s Managing Director of Major Account Sales in EMEA.

Jonathon Mitchell
Chief Operating OfficerJon Mitchell joined us having run his own consultancy business for seven years where he helped a range of MGAs, Insurers, Brokers to challenge the tech status-quo. This included developing new platforms for trading, data analytics and product development alongside establishing organisational capability. Jon and his colleagues also worked with a number of Private Equity investors providing Due Diligence services, Portfolio reviews and interim C-Suite roles.
Prior to independent life, Jon spent 16 years in a number of senior roles with AXA (as P&C Operations Director), Towergate (Underwriting IT Director) and PowerPlace (Technical Director) having started insurance life in the UK with Aon as an Associate Director for Change.

Matthew Vernon
Chief Technology OfficerMatthew came to RDT with over 30 years of experience delivering enterprise solutions in the Financial, Insurance and Open Banking sectors. He has a proven track record of delivering large complex solutions globally, having worked in America, Australia and Europe.
A serial innovator, Matthew was an early adopter of cloud technologies and has used Microsoft Azure since it was in Beta. In his role as CTO, Matthew will ensure that RDT remains at the forefront of Insurance Software innovation.

Fiona Mason
Chief Human Resources OfficerThe heart of RDT is our people – talented professionals with exceptional skills who ensure that our products and services are best in breed. Fiona’s remit is to ensure that we hire and retain the best of the best. She has been with RDT since 2011 and has seen our headcount more than double in that time.
Fiona began her career in the City, having worked at Bank of America for 12 years. After a period of consultancy she chose to join RDT permanently. Fiona is passionate about working creatively with People in Technology and has supported us in our growth by providing interventions around recruitment, performance and learning. By investing in our people we invest in our business.

Philip Whitehead
Finance DirectorPhilip heads up finance, legal and corporate governance for RDT. He also brings an experienced perspective to directing IT departments, especially with significant change and infrastructure projects.
In previous finance director roles he has been involved in strategic planning, investment appraisal, financial control and IT. Philip’s experience includes blue-chip brands such as Bass (including Holiday Inn Worldwide and Bass Taverns), The Tote (government owned until July 2011), Victor Chandler International and Coral PLC.

Neil Regan
Director of Operations RDT AsiaNeil is based in Adelaide, Australia, and is responsible for RDT Australia, as well as providing support for RDT’s UK customers.
He has led a number of large-scale projects and teams, using both agile and waterfall development styles, through to completion or benefits realisation, often exceeding stakeholder expectations.
Neil began his career as a software engineer, first working on aerospace flight control systems for GEC Marconi Avionics, and later developing clinical trial software for large pharmaceutical companies. He started working at RDT in 2005 as a project manager.

Stuart Dewhurst
Client Relationship DirectorStuart came to RDT with 20 years of experience in personal lines insurance focused on project management, analysis and testing. He’s a seasoned leader, with a proven track record of solving technical problems.
Before coming to RDT Stuart spent eight years at Markerstudy Group, first in product development and then as a project manager. He was already very familiar with RDT when he joined us as he’d worked with us on a number of projects while at Markerstudy, integrating software house systems with Equator.
In his customer-facing role at RDT Stuart is well placed to make best use of his technical and insurance knowledge to further develop long-term relationships between RDT and its clients.

Luke Mardell
Client Relationship ManagerLuke joined RDT with 15 years of experience in Personal and Commercial Lines Insurance. He gained experience working for AXA UK and The AA, during which he held Claims Management roles where he was responsible for running large scale teams and managing a number of the company’s key Supplier Relationships.
Luke has a long history of successfully engaging with senior leaders and business partners to develop processes using technology and adoption of digital solutions. In his previous roles, he has successfully delivered solutions to optimise the motor claims experience, specifically in the end-to-end repair and total loss journey.
In this customer facing role Luke will focus on developing RDT’s relationships with existing clients, while also assisting in new customers to join us.
