Business as usual at RDT

Date published

NOTICE: Wednesday 18th March 2020

RDT is following current government advice and all our development teams in the UK will be working from home until the advice changes.

Over the past few weeks we have had development teams working from home to test both the viability and productivity of remote working.

For some years our disaster recovery and business continuity plans have been based on remote working, and our cloud-based environments, cloud-based development and collaboration tools are ideal for this scenario.  The tests were very successful, and the teams’ output has remained unchanged.

Our clients should notice very little difference day to day.  Phone calls and video conferences will happen as before.  Routing to our staff wherever they are located will be seamless and automatic.

We have many months of work planned and prepared, so the teams will continue development without any down time.  Releases will be provided as normal.  We already frequently use voice and video links to communicate with clients, so conducting all communication this way is unlikely to cause any issues that can’t easily be overcome.

Hosted Atlas services will remain unaffected.  They will be monitored and managed by both the skeleton staff manning our offices, and by those engineers at home who will also be monitoring all the environments in real time.

There’s a lot of uncertainty right now, but for RDT it’s business as usual.
