We’re not able to take on a large number of internships each year but where we can, we do try.

Our aim is to translate those internships, (whether a summer or full-year placement) into an offer at the end of the period for graduation time.  This way our trainees already have a good understanding of the Company and our products, meaning when they join us permanently, they hit the ground running.

Agile working

Our interns are placed in a Agile team and learn about the way we operate to make software as well as gaining insight into the technical tools and methodologies we use.

Gaining real life experience, being part of a product team that is working for a client on software that will go live during your placement is invaluable for making decisions about what you want to do in your career (also what you don’t want to do!).

It gives you projects and insights to talk about as you apply for post-graduation roles.

A talent pipeline

Our aim is to identify talent and hold onto it, we want to offer internships to people who we can offer a role to at the end of their programme with us to return once they have finished their final year and graduated.

Previous interns have followed this route, undertaken a placement with us, worked with us on final projects once they have returned to their studies, even stayed on the on-call rota supporting clients through their final year for a bit of extra money!

Matt Vernon, CTO

Recruiting for and mentoring young talent is one of the things I enjoy most about my job.  I feel very strongly that our organisation benefits greatly from it’s investment in young talent.  Our exploration day is one of my favourite days of the year!

I am always very impressed with the talent we see at these events, and it is always so difficult to decide, I wish we could take everyone !

One of the things I do see and something that I think make a difference is real life experience.  Whilst I recognise that getting this experience is tough, I can really see the value that those applicants who have hands-on experience can bring.

My very strong advice is to get that real life experience wherever you can, it doesn’t matter to us if that is via private projects, university teamwork or an internship but it really helps you to stand out.
